Technology & IT summer vacation weeks in Salzburg: IT juniors take a look at SKIDATA
Young men and women aged 12 to 16 can take a peek at Salzburg´s most successful IT companies – including SKIDATA, the global market leader for access solutions – during the „Smart Summer“ technology and IT summer vacation weeks taking place from July 17 to August 4, 2017. On July 20, 2017, SKIDATA invites enthusiastic IT up-and-comers to their headquarters in Grödig, Austria. With the intention of awakening curiosity and excitement for technical professions, young people have the opportunity to learn more about the company and get involved themselves.
„Program participants can look forward to taking apart a computer and putting it back together, getting a closer look into the world of software development and much more. They should see how exciting technical jobs are and that math is important in more places than just the classroom,“ says Barbara Köglhaider, SKIDATA Recruiting Specialist. Responsible for junior staff development at SKIDATA, she and her colleagues are eagerly looking forward to the event on July 20, 2017.
Hands-on IT, technology and software at SKIDATA
SKIDATA will show students the variety in IT jobs in order to get them excited about a technology, software or IT apprenticeship or internship. After a snack in the cafeteria, they are treated to a company tour with a first glimpse at the world of SKIDATA ticketing systems and access solutions. Then, the rookies take part in workshops in which they learn about various job descriptions and training opportunities at SKIDATA. Students experience first-hand how exciting training in an IT profession can be. „What does a software developer do? How is a computer built? The participants get answers to their questions and we really hope that this hands-on event inspires them to choose career training in technology,“ explains Köglhaider.
