In addition to a newly developed SCHEMA Reader App there are now also mobile ST4 clients and online help in the Microsoft Help Viewer 2.x format which will support the users in their work away from their office. Also the responsive HTML5 based publication in the DocuManager for web-enabled and mobile devices makes working ‚on the road‘ much easier.

This year at the tekom Annual Conference in Wiesbaden from November 6 to 8, 2013 SCHEMA will present its new mobile features in the SCHEMA Content Delivery Server (CDS). The aim of the CDS by SCHEMA is the dedicated distribution of documents and information. It is an „intelligent“ webserver with various target systems: online, offline, tablet and smart phone. The Content Delivery Server is applicable for HTML and common documents like PDF, Word and the like. It is also suitable for online help systems as well as for service portals. In addition a connection between descriptive documentation and external systems can be created, like e.g. spare parts catalog systems or intranet portals.

An important component of the SCHEMA Content Delivery Server is the SCHEMA Reader App which is appropriate for tablets and smart phones. It operates on the Android, IOS and Windows 8 operating systems and is a web application for displaying content of documentation. Navigation via a primary hierarchy and taxonomies is optionally possible and also the personalized, graphical user interface can be controlled via role assignment.

Additionally an HTML5 based publication for web-enabled and mobile devices in Responsive Design as output format for the SCHEMA ST4 DocuManager has been developed. Through the Responsive Design of the HTML5 publication intelligent embedding on all mobile devices is possible. The SCHEMA CDS runs completely independently of the editing system’s server and is also open to content from other data sources.

Further details on the topic Mobility with SCHEMA will be presented by the Nuremberg XML editing system producer during the tekom Annual Conference in the Rhein-Main-Hallen in Wiesbaden at the SCHEMA booth number 123 in hall 1. For personal talks at the SCHEMA booth please contact claudia.arold@schema.de to arrange a date.
