SCHEMA Conference 2016 – A Highlight In Our Industry

It was that time again: on June 14 and 15, SCHEMA Group, Nürnberg specialist for Component Content Management Systems (CCMS), was hosting the big TechDoc event at the Messe Nürnberg.

SCHEMA Conference 2016 - A Highlight In Our Industry

500 customers, partners, and interested specialist audience from 21 countries accepted the invitation and turned the yearly, two-day SCHEMA Conference into a special kind of event – with record-breaking attendance. Since 1995, SCHEMA Group belongs to the industry leaders in the segment of XML-based editing systems, and today serves customers worldwide with their powerful software solution SCHEMA ST4 for technical editing.

Accordingly, SCHEMA“s customer portfolio has a broad spectrum. In addition to engineering companies such as Siemens, Bosch, Schaeffler or KraussMaffei, information technology, pharmaceutical industry and medical technology companies also count among SCHEMA“s customers. A lecturer from Philips Healthcare talked about SCHEMA ST4″s modern online help, while the managing editor of the British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph described how he not only provides access to repair and maintenance information according to the new EU regulation 168/2013, but also, thanks to the savings, can now offer service information in five additional target languages. A Miele user showed how this premium goods manufacturer automates sophisticated layouts. In the lecture by Geberit, the European market leader for sanitary products, the audience learned how product data is automatically assembled in technical publications. All in all, participants in this year“s conference were able to gain valuable information in over 40 talks by high-quality lecturers from academe, the industry and associations, about trends and new developments in technical documentation. Other offerings with more of a workshop character added a practical element.

In addition, fourteen partner booths offered „best-of-breed“ solutions for SCHEMA ST4: Apart from products for technical documentation from Adobe, expertise in translation management was especially in demand. Here, SCHEMA partners Kaleidoscope, Transline Deutschland, and Urban Translation Services presented their comprehensive offerings. The focus of doctima lies in the development of editing concepts, data migration, and content automation, while the SCHEMA partner T3 highlighted Industrie 4.0 – on both days of the conference, this was a much-discussed topic, which came to a head in the podium discussion „What“s Next? How Will Editing Systems Continue to Evolve?“, which took place with representatives from the industry, academe and associations. Content solution partners such as Acrolinx and Amplexor were very popular on both days, as was the partner Imprimatur Limited, who specializes on technical documentation in the automotive industry. The partner TID Informatik provided insight into their software solutions for 2D and 3D spare parts catalogs and service information systems. Interested participants received information about consulting and training services from the SCHEMA partners A2 Documentation & Translation, Carstens + Partner, as well as Dokuwerk, and Schmeling + Consultants.

Stefan Freisler and Marcus Kesseler, the two SCHEMA CEOs, appreciate the increased importance of the event: „After just having won the Bavarian Founders Prize, the great success of this year“s SCHEMA Conference is an additional confirmation that we are on the right track with the ongoing development of our CMS solution.“

Mark your calendars: SCHEMA Conference 2017 will open its doors on May 17 and 18, 2017.
