„GREEN FILMING FUTURE NOW.“

Green Filming Needs a Language We Share.
Standards. Stories. Structure. A European Approach in transformative times.

ROUND TABLE & EXPERT TALK AT FESTIVAL DE CANNES 2025

Cannes | May 18, 2025 | 11 AM – 1 PM
AUSTRIAN Film Pavilion | Village International Riviera No.104

EVERGREEN PRISMA EUROPE & JOINT NETWORK, the Institute for
Sustainability and Media, and the Association of Green Consultants Film & TV.
Supported by the German Federal Film Board

As sustainability is pushed to the sidelines of political agendas, one fact becomes
ever clearer: no one can walk this path alone. The transformation we need demands
networks that reach across borders.

Sustainability is not a national project – it is
European, it is global. And above all, it is a cultural project.
This round table asks the critical question: How do we build a shared foundation
for sustainable standards, training, certification, and storytelling in the Green
Filming sector – beyond national silos, beyond symbolic greenwashing?

Leading Green Experts und Green Consultants from all over Europe will discuss these
topics and challenges at the Austrian Film Pavillon. The panel will also include
filmmakers who understand the responsibility and impact they have with the stories they tell.

Real change only happens where knowledge, responsibility, and practice are shared.

It happens where we build bridges – between countries, between disciplines, between people.

At the heart of this European approach is the development of a flexible yet clearly structured
framework for education and certification. It seeks to balance national diversity with compatibility
across Europe. The panel aims to explore pathways for quality assurance, continuous professional
development, and political advocacy for Green Consultants – and, crucially, to bring the conversation
to the creative core: Green Storytelling.

This Expert Talk is more than a discussion: It is a milestone for network building and structural development.

Evergreen Prisma – Competence Center for Green Filming Europe – alongside the Institute for
Sustainability in Media and Education (INFOSME), the Association of Green Consultants for Film & TV,
and the German Federal Film Board are playing a leading role in shaping the platforms, partnerships,
and recognition systems needed to scale sustainable practices across the European film and media
landscape.

Our common goal:
We are not only building systems – we are building bridges. Bridges for shared standards,
shared stories, and shared responsibility. Together, they stand for quality
assurance, advocacy, and cross-border collaboration – not as distant goals, but as essential
preconditions for the change we urgently need.

This is not just another round table.
It is the meeting point for all those who understand:
The future of filmmaking is green. And it is European.
