Germany – August 25, 2012. German National Tourism Board (DZT) has sponsored a worldwide questionnaire to determine the top 100 tourism sites of Germany. This questionnaire was opened on March 15, 2012 under their official website, www.germany.travel and allowed users to anonymously vote for their three favorite places in Germany. The members of the famous German Romantic Road bagged six places among these 100 places.

The Romantic Road takes tourists on a journey of about 400 km starting from Würzburg and ending at Füssen in the Allgäu. It is considered the grandfather of scenic routes in Germany, and is more than 60 years old. The Romantic Road is an attraction that brings visitors from all around the world.

There are many ways in which the Romantic Road can be traveled, but the best way to travel is by coach. For a comfortable travel, tourists mostly prefer a coach that offers flexible „hop-on, hop-off“ services: http://www.romantic-road-coach.eu

Denise, a tourist, expressed her happiness on traveling through the Romantic Road, „I was extremely happy to see such scenic beauty. I never thought it could be so much fun. I booked my tour through Touring Tours and Travel and they took care of everything from the trip itself to meals and accommodation!“

The DZT official website was seeing a lot of participation from people around the world. With the fame and popularity of Romantic Road, it is not surprising that their members have been able to bag six positions on the questionnaire: Place 2 (Schloss Neuschwanstein), Place 17 (Wieskirche), Place 21 (UNESCO Welterbe, Residenz Würzburg), Place 26 (Altstadt von Rothenburg ob der Tauber), Place 50 (Romantische Straße), and Place 89 (Festung Marienberg Würzburg).

Thomas, a local resident was very happy about the questionnaire, „We are very happy about this questionnaire and taking part in it. I have marked my three favorite places, and incidentally they all fall on the Romantic Road. Romantic Road is like a mini Germany in itself. It“s totally beautiful“

The triad of nature, culture and hospitality has been the trade mark of the Romantic Road for over 50 years. Running from the River Main to the Alps, it is Germany“s best known and most popular tourist route. The name Romantic Road expresses what many guests from home and abroad feel on seeing medieval towns or the fairy-tale castle at Neuschwanstein: fascination and the sense of being transported back in time. From Würzburg to Füssen, the Romantic Road opens up a wealth of European history, art and culture to travellers.
