E-World 2014: GreenPocket presents the next generation of smart home

Cologne, 16.01.2014 – Software-expert GreenPocket will present its new smart home system at trade fair E-World 2014 (11.-13.02.2014 in Essen, Germany). The focus of the new product lies on its intuitive interaction design with „one-touch“-function. With a customizable dashboard, notifications and intelligent automatisms the software provides more comfort, security and energy efficiency to its users.

By offering the brand new GreenPocket solution, utilities and service providers can now equip their customers with a smart home that allows a one-of-a-kind user experience. „We have thought long and hard about what a successful smart home should be like and came to the conclusion that, next to a solid technical foundation, the handling by the user is utterly important“, says Dr. Thomas Goette, CEO of GreenPocket. „Therefore the most important improvement of our new smart home is the interactive experience it offers.“

Unique user experience

The intuitive handling of the smart home that elegantly enables the user to reach all important features with only one touch is one of the features contributing to this experience. For more clarity, the dashboard has been reduced to its most important functions. It can be individualized with devices and automatisms to fit one“s personal preferences. Different colors of the sensor-displays show the status of devices at one glance, while actuators can be operated quickly and comfortably. If for example, the user choses to switch off the radio by a touch on the dashboard, the radio-switch immediately turns grey to show the device“s inactivity. The „one-touch“ function is particularly important for mobile use. Since using the smart home by smartphone and tablet is crucially important to most people, the GreenPocket solution is not only suited for desktop use, but has also been optimized for all established mobile devices. With the new clear design and additional effects, the new smart home is not only fast and easy to handle but also fun. Therefore it encourages to a more permanent use.

Notifications for more security

Another innovation is the notification function that informs the user about status changes of the connected devices in his home. For example, in case a window is opened while no one is at home, the user will receive an alert. An alarm and activity summary on the dashboard shows all the last status changes at one glance. Thanks to those features even security-conscious people can enjoy their holidays to the fullest, knowing that they will be automatically informed about any security incidents at home.

One smart home – numerous individual application scenarios

A further focus of the GreenPocket solution lies on the wide range of intelligent automatisms that enable a complete integration of the smart home system into the user“s everyday life. „A smart home is only truly smart, when the best case scenario is applied without the necessity of an active interference by the user“, says Goette. The vision of personal comfort comes true, when the heating in the bathroom is automatically switched on whenever the temperature drops beneath the personal comfort level or humidity increases because a shower is taken. Thanks to a linking to timetables, the user can always enjoy a nice and warm bathroom when needed, but no energy will be wasted for unnecessary heating.

Greenpocket is going to present its new smart home from February 11th to 13th at E-World in Essen, Germany. GreenPocket is located in hall 4, stand 113. Furthermore, Dr. Thomas Goette is going to give a speech about „Energy management for business customers“ on February 11th at 11:20 o“clock at the Smart Energy Forum.
