EUROPART, the European commercial vehicle parts distributor, has acquired a majority stake in the joint venture of EUROPART Finland Oy. Frank Lönnqvist still remains active in his role as managing director and reports directly to CEO Pierre Fleck. All the employees continue to serve in the company.
Hagen/Helsinki, 06.03.2014. EUROPART is continuing to expand its presence in the Nordic region. The leading European distributor for commercial vehicle parts and workshop requirements has acquired a majority stake in EUROPART Finland Oy as of 1 March 2014, a joint venture with the participation of the Managing Director Frank Lönnqvist. „Closer ties of EUROPART Finland to its parent company is part of our pan-European strategy. This enables us to successfully expand our market position in Finland and thus further strengthen our position in the European market.“ explains CEO Pierre Fleck.
Lönnqvist and his team have been working in close collaboration with EUROPART since 2001. „Over the past 13 years, EUROPART Finland has become established as an effective leader in the Finnish transport sector with both truck-trailer as well as bus parts“ Frank Lönnqvist explains, looking back. „The new majority structure allows us to begin promoting the further expansion and development of additional sites in Finland.“ Currently, EUROPART is represented in Finland at two sites to the north and east of the capital Helsinki. Helsinki is, with its large national freight ports, a major logistics hub for many European industrial and transportation companies and therefore of strategic importance for EUROPART.
Due to the traditionally strong transport industry, the Scandinavian countries play a central role in the EUROPART strategy. In addition to an expansion of sales activities, the majority takeover of the Finnish company makes it possible to also gain an increase in centralized purchasing volumes as well as optimize the parts logistics.
